The delivery ceremony for the first batch of high-power AC driven electric locomotives was held in CRN Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co. Ltd, Dec. 8, 2006. Officials from the Ministry of Railways,
Dalian municipal government, related departments of
Liaoning
Province and CRN were present at the ceremony. Liu Debing, Vice president of CNTIC and personnel from Railway & Locomotive Division of Head Department of Infrastructure Construction attended the delivery ceremony.
The 44 locomotives denominated as “Harmony” delivered on Dec. 8, 2006, is the first batch of AC driven locomotives manufactured in
China with an international advanced level, using the technologies introduced from
Toshiba,
Japan and achieving a localization rate of over 80%. The delivery demonstrates a great success of the rapid development of the railway sector in
China and represents a significant milestone in the history of the locomotive manufacturing industry in the country. CRN Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co. Ltd will further deliver 180 localized AC driven electric locomotives “Harmony” to MOR next year.
